Our training sessions are
proving really popular but we
are always keen to welcome
new members.
We have a very mixed
membership with young
children and more mature
adults. The younger we can
get students the better but
that does not mean you
cannot start judo later in life.
We have had many students
who have started as new
beginners in their 30s and 40s
and others who have returned
to judo later than that after
many years of not being
involved.
*For practical reasons the
minimum age of membership
is 6 years.
Monday Night Training
Monday nights sessions start at 6.30pm and we
train at St Matthews Church Hall in Newbottle.
Details of the venue can be found by clicking here.
Thursday Night Training
Thursday nights sessions start at 6.30pm and we
train at Barley Mow Village Hall in Birtley. Details of
the venue can be found by clicking here.
Any news or announcements about training
sessions can be found on our Facebook page.
If you want to improve your fitness,
stamina and general well-being then come

“Judo is an excellent activity to
be involved with due to its many
facets – it is a competitive sport,
a fantastic exercise regime, a
form of discipline, and a self-
defence system. Starting judo at
a young age helps create
winners, both in the competitive
arena, and in everyday life,
however it’s not all about
competing and we welcome
students of any age*, sex and
ability."
